For many of us making some one smile is one of the highlights of life. However that smile is come by is inconsequential we should just be satisfied that for that couple of seconds in that person’s life they could summon up the will power to be happy because of something we did or said.
Making a loved one smile is a positive high for anyone. If we can bring love and happiness into someone’s life who we love and cherish dearly then we are doing a certain amount of good. But times and people change over time and it is easy to not only forget to make someone who you love smile but also forget how to make them smile and be happy. This does not mean necessarily that we love that person any less just that we may have got our priorities in life somewhat wrong. So how can we go about addressing this and putting it right for the future?
Most of us want to feel loved in life, whether that is by our immediate family, friends or by our partner it does not really matter. This should be a love that is reciprocated and with all things in life we should treat these people with the love and respect with which we would like to be treated in return. Taking a few minutes out each day just to think of something nice that you can say or do for someone close to you could have such an effect on that person’s life that you will not believe that you had not done it before. Simply going through the mental process of being loving to someone makes you more likely to be more loving to that person as your subconscious will prompt you when in a situation to be, say or do what you were thinking of. That is what the subconscious does.
If you can find the smallest of detail to focus on when with your loved one and make an over the top loving comment about that detail your partner will be amazed at your loving and caring attention to detail, this will make them feel wonderful and is bound to make you feel great in return. It may be the way your partner drinks their drink, eats their spaghetti or even flicks their hair, noticing is part of loving.
When out for your lunch why not spend five or ten minutes just thinking about what you could buy your partner for no more than a few dollars, something that you would never buy them as a gift usually but again, something that shows that whilst you were away from them your had them in your thoughts.
Being unique for many people is what love is all about, but trying to be unique is very difficult, being yourself is very easy. The trick with being yourself and being unique is to open your mind up to who you really are, who your partner really is and what it is that make you and your partner the people that you are together. When you start thinking and appreciating that you are both unique together then you will find a very special kind of love that lasts for a very long time.
