Dismally, lower back pain interferes with you from enjoying your everyday lifestyle. Almost all activities you do utilize your back muscles. Everything from playing with your kids to participating in sports or running and so on utilizes your back muscles.

Certainly, when your back is in pain then your daily lifestyle will probably suffer as well. One of the first, most usual sources for lower back pain or discomfort is herniated or bulging discs.

Herniated or protruding discs can result due to a multitude of sources. Regularly, a sudden trauma and stress to the back, disc degeneration and deterioration, aging in general, sudden twisting motions, excessive stress on the spinal column and the discs from heavy and/or improper lifting may all be causes for a herniated or slipped. Think this over, a herniated or protruding disc in the back places pressure on the nerves and produces aggravation which in turn causes different levels of back pain. Not to mention, a herniated or bulging disc can affect more than just the lower back region. For example, if the herniated or slipped disc places compression on the sciatic nerve then a condition known as sciatica may happen. It is said that sciatica produces excruciating shooting pains down the lower back region and down through the one leg or the other due to aggravation of the sciatic nerve or nerves.

Another possible usual cause for back pain is trauma and stress to the back and back muscles from sprains, injuries, or overlooked damage over time. As we said earlier, back muscles can be injured by a sudden trauma and injury to the back, disc degeneration and deterioration, getting older, irregular twisting motions, excessive force on the spine and the discs from heavy lifting, muscle imbalances, bad posture or from daily activities. Also, if you are out of shape or overweight it may also place additional force on the back muscles and produces lower back pain. For this and many other reasons the start of pain from sprains and/or injuries might appear immediately or later sometimes. Just remember the muscle spasms are how your back protects itself from added damage by knotting up so they cant be fully utilized which in turn causes severe low back pain.

The last most typical reason for back discomfort is osteoarthritis. In essence, it is a degenerative and deteriorative problem that might afflict a multitude of parts of the body not simply the back. Obviously, this issue does not merely come about overnight. In reality, it slowly produces deterioration of the discs between the spinal column that cushion the bones of the vertebrae. For this reason and many others the spinal column will press against each other once these discs deteriorate and produce back pain and discomfort. Remember that osteoarthritis is more common in individuals of older age since the body changes as you age. The principal change is a loss in calcium. Sadly, this loss of calcium makes your bones weaker and less dense and more inclined to fractures via compression on your bones that place you at risk for back pain.

Herniated or protruding discs, a trauma and injury to the back, and osteoarthritis may all cause pain in your back. Advantageously, we have made a number of advancements in modern medicine and technology in our society. Therefore, people have several solutions available to them to control or cure crippling back pain entirely.

Ultimately, if you have pain in your lower back seek the counsel of a physician or chiropractor or physiotherapist about your back pain but dont ignore it.
